Here you can find some of my own quotes and my favorite posts from our Facebook Page.
"I am tired of sitting back with arms crossed and do nothing while I see society falling apart in front of me. It has been a while since I realized that I can do my part to make a difference. It’s my time and I am ready." - AJ (first post 10/16/10)

Today is an awesome day to go out there and make a difference!
Sometimes we find distractions that keep us away from important goals, and this is why I dedicate time to myself to focus and reorganize ideas. Its like a reset bottom, more like cleaning the cookies from a computer's hard drive. You should try it, and make your life a meaningful one!
Everything in life is about choices. We choose to be happy, we choose to cry, we choose our relationships, we choose our priorities, we choose our goals in life. Now, go out there and be your own hero and make a difference!
I don't regret any mistake I have made.. life is about lessons. Take the bad experiences and turn them in something positive. When you fall, you have to be strong enough to go back up and kick ass!
If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. If you see something, do something!
Appreciate those who care about you. It's all about quality, not quantity.
Appearances change easily, but personalities remain the same. Judge people by their persona and character, not by what they look like.
We share this planet with its beauties and mysteries. Let’s help and support each other while we survive together.
All our differences (age, gender, race, sexual orientation, political ideology, religious believe, socio-economic status and physical/mental abilities) make us unique individuals.
What makes this world so special is the diversity of its people.
Be who you are, not what society wants you to be.
I know there is space for kindness. We will embrace it. We will spread it.
Forgiveness is not forgetting. Forgiveness is remembering without holding a grudge.
Opportunities are limited, so take advantage of them while you can because they may not come across again.
Forget all the bad times and keep the good memories forever.
A friend would tell you how it is. A friend would applaud your victories. A friend would give you a shoulder to cry. A friend would try the best to understand you. A friend would not judge you. A friend would be there for you whenever you need him/her. Keep those good friends and show them you care about them as well!
Embrace diversity. Be thankful. Show kindness. Promote tolerance.
Be who you are, you are unique and very special. Imagine how many lives you have already touched; they will all remember you.
Educate yourself on how to me more environmentally friendly. This planet is our home, so lets take care of it, not only for ourselves but for the next generations.
Encourage others to stop hate. Take actions against injustice. Be kind to one another!
We took over this planet, so it is our duty to protect it and take care of it.
There's no one like you. You are unique. Your personality and individuality make you very special. Be who you are, not what society wants you to be!
Erase hate. Avoid labeling. Embrace diversity. Be kind to one another.
Show kindness to one another. Embrace your uniqueness. Be proud of your roots. Celebrate diversity!
Surround yourself with positive energy and people who care about you; keep the bad ones away.
Appreciate what you have today, you may not have it tomorrow.
We judge on appearances, but I encourage you to look beyond stereotypes and give people a chance. You will be surprised.
Respect others and teach your kids about acceptance. Let’s work together on creating a better world where we do not have to fight against discrimination and prejudices.
Live everyday to its fullest, who knows what would happen tomorrow.
Be aware that your actions can affect other people, sometimes positively. Selfishness is not a virtue.
Just because everyone runs to the right that does not mean that the "right" is the right way. Don't be a follower, be a leader.
Our lives shouldn't be only eating, working, having sex and sleeping. There's more and we have to look beyond those routines and see the big picture, thinking out of the box. Find the time to talk to others about respect and tolerance. Take actions against prejudices and injustices to help make a better, peaceful world. Do not be like a robot, doing the same things every day while time goes by; life is too short.
We have to analyze the way we live our lives and take responsibilities for our own actions. We have to open our minds and be part of the change. To make a difference, we must start with ourselves.
After all the natural disasters we have experienced, we have to realize that everything can change in a second. In these times we must be together, not against each other. Life is too short; we should embrace it every day. Be kind to one another. Live and let live.
No one learns from someone else's experiences. Fall down and stand up by yourself and you will learn
I am tired of sitting back with arms crossed and do nothing while I see society falling apart in front of me. It has been a while since I realized that I can do my part to make a difference. It’s my time and I am ready.
Even the small things can make a difference. When you think you are not doing much, you may be still contributing somehow. It does not matter what cause you want to support or what points of views you have, just remember to stand up, speak out and take actions! - Together we can make our world a better place.
You don't have to agree with everyone. Just respect people's different point of view!
People complain about other people's behaviors and way of thinking. People get surprised about news of hate crimes and lack of acceptance. But unfortunately, a lot of people just choose to wait for others to make the step of changing things. I do not want to think that you don't care about these issues. STAND UP, SPEAK OUT AND DO SOMETHING!!!
We learn from every fall and each mistake we make. Life is not about avoiding obstacles, but dealing with them.
You fight for them, you argue with them, you keep their secrets, you protect them, you support them, you lie for them, and they all do the same to you!. Happy Sister's Day!
Once in a while, everyone should take a day, or at least an hour to reconnect with themselves, reflecting on life, prioritizing goals and moving away from negativity.
Any type of discrimination is wrong. I work with children w special needs (deaf, blind, albinism, mental illness, physical malformation, different types of syndromes, etc). I have seen a lot of discrimination, not only against me but against people close to me. I started this campaign because of all of these personal experiences.
One should not be judged by the actions of a group, only because they have the same religion belief or race.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion; I wish people could see things from a different perspective and understand how these kinds of decisions affect people. I am sure you wouldn't be thinking the same way if you were a denied a specific right only because of who you are.
We are no one to say that our norms are the right ones; there's not such right or wrong. This is not a religion debate; not everyone is a Christian, and we should respect other's religion beliefs. This is a human rights matter.
Holidays remind us of what we should do all year long. We don’t need to wait for Valentine’s Day to say “I love you” or Thanksgiving to show gratitude for what we have. Whatever holidays we celebrate, regardless our religious beliefs, we should be respectful of others’ traditions. Enjoy the winter holidays, and don't forget to give and show kindness all year long!
Saying "Thank you" is not only about manners, but is about appreciating what others have done for us, what we have, and what we have received.
Sometimes we complaint about things that are insignificant when compared to what others are going through. It does not take much to see what is happening around in the world, and realize how lucky we are. Be grateful for what you have and help those in needs.
Keep the oceans clean and be green by saving energy and recycling. Take actions against pollution and environmental destruction. We share this planet; lets save the species in danger of extinction. It’s our duty to do something. This is our home!
Part of this campaign focuses on self-respect, self-confidence and how we see life; these are major factors to learn in order to be able to understand and respect others' point of views instead of judging them. We must improve ourselves before we can teach others. We usually act based on how we take life in general. To be kind, which is one of our most important focus, is something that one must feel to do naturally, and that feeling occurs when you work your inner self and how you see and take your environment.
I’m ready for a getaway with myself and nature. I’m taking a break to put thoughts together and evade distractions from main goals. It's time to reconnect with my inner self. There’s a time where you need to take care of yourself before you can help others. Posting are not going to be as frequent during this time. Thank you for the support! – July 21, 2011
Today is Columbus Day, but I rather call it "Indigenous Peoples Day". Today I do not celebrate Europeans coming to America and taking control of something that already belonged to the Indigenous people, bringing sickness and deaths. Today I celebrate the hundreds of tribes that fought for freedom, and those who died trying to save their land. We cannot forget that we are all foreigners; the natives are the original inhabitants. Support the Indigenous people and help them keep their culture, environments and human rights!
I remember 9/11 like it was yesterday. I used to work a couple of blocks away from the White House. I was getting ready for work when I turned on the TV just moments after the first tower was hit. While I was sitting in shock in front of the TV trying to understand how all those people were going to get out, the second tower got hit. At that time I knew it was not an accident. I couldn't believe what happened. By the time the Pentagon got hit, I felt we were under attack, I felt unsafe. I was in the DC area and wasn't sure what was next. I cried while watching the tower collapsed. Everything changed then. The aftermath still affects all of us. I respect and support the troops, but personally I do not agree with wars. While nearly 3,000 people died on 9/11, more than 100,000 people have died during the war. I do not think that violence is the response for violence. As consequence of 9/11, many Middle Eastern people have been victim of hate crimes and discrimination because of the actions of that group that changed America forever. People from different races and religion beliefs, also died on 9/11. We must start being more accepting, respecting one another. Today I honor not only those who lost their lives on 9/11 and the war, but also those that are doing something to make the world a better place and those that fight for our freedom!
Life is too short. Enjoy everyday and appreciate your loved ones. It's okay to show affection. Hugs your friends and family while you have them.
Actions speak louder. Let your actions speak for you.
Sending lots of love your way. Grab it, embrace it and spread it!
As we celebrate Thanksgiving Day, we cannot forget our Native American brothers and remember that we are all aliens on their land. We do not need to wait for this holiday to show gratitude for what we have; be thankful all year long. Happy holiday! Be Safe!
I thank our Native American brothers for sharing their home with us, and Occupiers worldwide for standing up and demanding change in these difficult times. I am grateful for living in this time and witnessing this historic moment. Be kind to one another and show gratitude all year long.
Lets not forget those in needs, those who do not have a plate of food, those who for some reason are away of their loved ones, and those who are ill. Tell you loved ones how important they are to you. Help people in needs with donations if you can. Appreciate what you have. Give a smile; it is okay to show affection. Thank you all for your continue support!
People should see the big picture even if things do not affect them directly; just because it does not happen to us that do not mean that it is not important. Opening our minds would help us to understand others instead of judging them. We can actually make a big difference if we work together to be on the same page, the page of positivism, where we can all be treated equally not matter or religion, race, sexual orientation or socio-economic status. For humanity. Solidarity!
I have volunteered a couple of times, and it is an awesome thing to do, especially if it is for a cause that you care about. I encourage you to volunteer at least one, and I am sure you will do it again. Volunteerism is an option, and I applaud anyone who does something to help someone without expecting anything in return. Not everything is about money. Thank you volunteers worldwide for doing what you are doing. I love you all!
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I encourage you to please educate yourself and participate in things before making an opinion or judging.
On this holiday (Christmas), instead of materialism, promote love giving affection and showing kindness. Teach your children about the action of giving, and ask them to choose toys that they don't play with anymore and donate them to children in need. Lets not forget the real meaning of this holiday!
Remember they are many people who are not receiving presents today, others won't be able to spend this holiday with their loved ones, and thousands of people will be sleeping on the streets because they do not have a home. Be grateful for what you have, help those in needs if you can, and give kindness on this holiday.
My love and gratitude go to everyone who stands up for what they believe in, activists, protesters, fighters, and every individual who have taken actions across the world to make a difference. You are my inspiration. You have my unconditional support. THANK YOU! – Support those who are doing something to make a positive difference to create a better world!
A big hug to all of those who live away from family. Kudos to all immigrants who make the choice to leave their family behind for a better future. Lots of love to those who for one reason or another cannot be with their loved ones. Your friend, AJ
On Valentines's Day, do not promote consumerism and materialism; just give love through your actions. We do not need a holiday to remind us that it is okay to show affection. Be kind to one another all year long!
A shout-out to all street artists and performers around the world (painters, dancers, tattooists, musicians, entertainers, etc.) whose talent might not be recognized. I admire and support you for doing what you like to do, and for entertain us. Feel free to share anything on this page. Continue to do what you do best, and don't give up! Solidarity!
Support those who are doing something to make a difference. I would like to thank all the other pages and organizations who are sharing a positive message to create a better world, full of kindness, tolerance, and equality. Stand up, speak out, and take actions!
I am aware that I'm not perfect, but I do have good intentions.
Sometimes people expect others to be perfect and forget we are only human; we are always growing and learning from our mistakes.
Your actions (the way you treat your children, your family, your friends, your loved ones, your co-workers, etc.) show who you are. Analyze how you live your life and how that can affect others, especially yourself. It’s not about "wanting" to change; it is actually making the effort to change what matters. Actions speak louder than words.
When you point a finger to someone, you have three fingers pointing back to you. Live and let live. Don't spend your time and energy judging others. Be kind to one another!
Surround yourself with positive people. Reduce unnecessary distractions and work in meaningful priorities.
If we want a change, we have to work together to make a difference. Don't be afraid to stand up for what you believe in. Don't wait for others to act. Speak out and take actions!
I am grateful for what I have, the time I live in, and the supporters of this campaign. Life is beautiful.
I don't regret any mistake I have made.. life is about lessons. But, sometimes I realize that there are so many distractions that are keeping me away from my main goals, so I use this time for myself, to focus and reorganize my ideas. Its like a reset bottom, more like cleaning the cookies from a computer's hard drive.
Some people might think I am crazy for staying in a cabin alone in the mountains for 4 days, but I call that a "retreat". I am comfortable enough to spend time with myself, and the time I spend reflecting on life and being grateful with nature is priceless.
I find that a lot people become very dependent not only on other people but also on material things. Nothing is forever. I like spending time by myself, especially when I disconnected myself from my busy routine. It gives me the opportunity to reconnect with myself, to do not lose my focus on important goals.
We do most things like on automatic pilot, instead of being really present. We over stimulate ourselves with doing many things at the same times, like listening to the TV when eating while reading emails or texting. Take the time to do one thing at a time while actually being “there”. When eating, smell the food, taste the flavors, and feel the textures. Live life and enjoy every second of it “now”; don't let life pass you by. You control your body and mind; use them wisely. I am very happy that I am resuming my meditation practice in this retreat; I missed it.
Lets celebrate the hundreds of tribes that fought for freedom, and those who died trying to save their land. We cannot forget that we are all foreigners; the natives are the original inhabitants. Support the Indigenous people and help them keep their culture, environments and human rights!
I've tried to please people, but I've learned that whatever you do, some people would like you and some others would not. We feel the need to fit in especially in our teenage years, but finding your true self is more important than trying to impress people to accept you. We are who we are and even if we pretend to be different, at certain point we always go back to whom we are. So, why try to be different? Life is too short to be spent on this. Be always you, and appreciate those true friends who like you for who you really are.
I do not preach any specific religion over other religions. But I do promote awareness about religion tolerance, opening minds to try to understand all religions without judging them. I was raised catholic, but I do not practice any religion; I take some things from each one. One thing most religions share is compassion and kindness, and that is what I practice. What it’s wrong is people using religion for secret agenda; that I do not support.
If we want a change, we have to work together to make a difference. Don't be afraid to stand up for what you believe in. Don't wait for others to act. Speak out and take actions!
National Coming Out Day. Do not let anyone bring you down. When you ready, stand proud and be who you are. For those who already came out, do you remember how boring your life was? and look how happy you are today! Celebrate diversity and promote equality. I accept and love you for who you are, and I am very proud of you. Hugs, AJ
Be warned.. I share smiles and give free hugs to anybody. If you see me, get ready! ;-)
We can all do our part to make a difference. I took all my bad and hurtful experiences and turned them into this campaign to inspire others and encourage them to eliminate hate and prejudice. It is only me is this other side, not an organization or a group. It's our actions that count; one little thing can change someone's life. I have witnessed it.
I feel even more American when I take the streets with my fellow comrades protesting for our rights and fighting injustices.
I want to thank all those people who are working during the up-coming holiday, especially those working in retail on what I call "Materialistic Friday", when people buy things only because they are "on sale", not because they are needed. This holiday is about spending time with family and being grateful; give kindness, show compassion, and help those in needs.
On this "Materialistic Friday", remember those in needs when fighting over great deals. Just because it is "on sale" that does not mean you need it. Appreciate what you have. Give a smile, be kind, and show compassion.
Be thankful. Spread love. Show compassion. Give kindness. Erase hate. Stop violence. – AJ
I choose not to believe that God hates gays; 'hate' is such a strong word. When reading the bible, we cannot forget that the bible bans tattoos, rounded haircuts, consulting psychics, gossiping, wives helping out their husbands in a fight, eating a ham sandwich, children cursing their parents, getting remarried after getting divorced, women speaking in houses of God, losing your virginity before you get married, eating shrimp and lobster, and other things; a lot of us still do some of these things and no one makes a deal about it.
Racism, homophobia, stereotypes are things you learn, not something you are born with.
Just because I am Latino I should not be referred as the "latino man". We just need to stop seeing color and see more real people. Skin color alone does not determine a person’s race or culture, but it offers insights into a person’s geographic ancestry. Race is a cultural invention based on a set of ideas developed in recent history and science. Scientists say that skin color evolved as the body’s way of adapting to ultraviolet radiation from the sun.
Only we can control our own feelings. It is up to us. Love and hate are very powerful feelings that require a lot of energy; I choose to use my energy on being kind and compassionate.
Don't be intimidated by people trying to scare you. Stand up for what you believe in and take actions. I have made some enemies for speaking up but I am truth to myself, and I will not tolerate injustice.
It's great when you can make fun of yourself, and don't take too serious what people say.
Once in a while, everyone should take a day, or at least an hour to reconnect with themselves, reflecting on life, prioritizing goals and moving away from negativity. Today I had my moment; I cried, I smiled, but more importantly I realized how proud I am for who I have become. I am grateful for all of you and my family, and your continued support with this campaign. I love you all!
How ironic is when people, who claim to be religious, are the ones doing wrong and promoting violence. I've never understood why many of those who practice religions do bad things and cause trouble, showing a double personality. You don't need a religion to have morals and common sense; just because you practice a specific religion that doesn't mean you're better than those who don’t. Religion as spirituality should be something very private, and if you are going to promote it then make sure that you follow it properly, not superficially. I personally do not preach any specific religion over others. But I do promote religion tolerance, trying to understand all of them without judging them. One thing most religions share is compassion, and that is what I practice.
Confronting every obstacle that I have found in this long road of my life has taught me that the best way to learn about life is dealing with it. Things happen for a reason and not everything is what it looks like. Life is beautiful and very short, so I live everyday like it is the last one, and I enjoy every second of it.
Things might not look good, but I smile anyway because I know that everything will work out just fine. There is no need to worry about things I cannot change or do not have control of. I am sure that soon I will look back and see things from a different perspective. Everything happens for a reason.
Everything in life is about choices. We choose to worry, love, hate, judge, and do things. It is up to us to make the right decision for ourselves. Don't be intimidated by others. Don't be a follower. Question everything. Be true to yourself. In October 2010, I decided to dedicate my life to this campaign; I chose kindness and compassion.
I hated someone because I felt I had to find someone responsible for what I was going through. I wished wrong on that person and I am not proud of it today. I hated and ended up hurting myself even worse. Time showed me how wrong I was, but those experiences made me who I am today. Now I look back and instead of remembering the bad times, I embrace the opportunity that I have to share my story through this campaign and make a positive change in the world. Hatred is bad, no one wins. That is way I have remove the H- word from my vocabulary; it is such a strong word.. and a feeling that I am personally not comfortable with. I understand that certain situations and/or people may bring out a strong dislike feeling in us, but only ourselves can control those feelings. We have to think about consequences before doing or saying something hurtful.
I never agree with the term "gay", such as the "gay" area, the "gay" bar, the "gay" store, etc. We need to stop using labels even on ourselves, and we need to accept each other for who we are: Humans. To me the term "gay" basically disclosures who people sleep with, not who they are. Labels are never good, and they are the reason of many conflicts and discussions. There are certain terms/labels that people use to describe themselves, but when someone uses them then it is considered "wrong". In my opinion it is better not to use labels period and avoid issues. We can still fight for "gay" rights, but to me they are human rights, and this is why we fight for equal rights.
If you don't agree, speak out and voice your opinion. If you don't like something, do something about it. Don't stay still; even a small thing can make a difference.
I was bullied while in school. I was persecuted and ended up applying for asylum and moving to a different country. I understand the feeling of betrayal and being misunderstood at times. I had the chance to overcome some of those issues, and I now use social networks to promote awareness about these topics that cannot be ignored. We have to be strong and do not allow anyone to put us down. We must be willing to make the change within ourselves. I love myself for who I am today, and I wouldn't be this way if it wasn't for what I went through. You must love yourself.
Sometimes we may feel overwhelmed by work, family, relationships and other issues; it is important for us take a moment before we can react to those problems, and reflect on what can make us happy and set out priorities to achieve that goal without losing control of our true self.
Sometimes we find distractions that keep us away from important goals, and this is why I dedicate time to myself to focus and reorganize ideas. Its like a reset bottom, more like cleaning the cookies from a computer's hard drive. You should try it, and make your life a meaningful one!
